The Streaming Platform is Producing a Far Cry TV Show from the Creators of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The newest Far Cry instalment that audiences experienced was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and was released back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for embracing violence and insanity with equal enthusiasm, all while presenting captivating, politically driven tales. It’s no surprise that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two creators whose work have embodied all of those elements.

About the Series

Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game series, the limited anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' style by having a fresh setting and cast of characters in subsequent series.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as showrunners on the series via their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had magnificent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our collaborators at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we have no details on what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new long-term contract with the creator.

“Getting to work together with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And along the way, my FX family continues to lift me up with their ongoing confidence and backing.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology show. Every instalment is a variation of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a version on a theme,” explained Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can shift from season to season, while always exploring the core of people through this complex and chaotic lens, is a long-held aspiration. I’m excited to partner with Rob and introduce our common unconventional, daring style to the television.”

A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
