Star Denies Anti-Vaxxer Position After Narrating Disputed Coronavirus Feature

Liam Neeson has lent his vocal talents to a new documentary that casts doubt on the efficacy of vaccines and lauds one-time health official RFK Jr.

The Feature's Contentious Origins

Called "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a well-known publication co-authored by Judy Mikovits, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for claims that the illness was a result of a problematic version of the seasonal immunization.

The book's writing partner, a producer, has previously authored books with controversial media personality a known commentator. He wrote online celebrating Neeson's role in the documentary.

A Strong Statement

The team of the actor have released a comment firmly refuting suggestions that he holds anti-vax sentiments.

"Everyone can acknowledge that unethical practices can exist within the medical sector, but that must not be equated to rejection of vaccines," the response reads. "Liam has never been, and remains not, against vaccines. His extensive work with the global charity underscores his long-held support for public-health initiatives."

It noted that the star had no hand in the project's narrative and that inquiries about its assertions ought to go to the creators.

Major Assertions In the Feature

As presented, the narration provided by Neeson features several controversial claims:

  • It states that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "blind obedience" to public institutions.
  • It posits that "science has become highly politicised."
  • RFK Jr is interviewed saying, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
  • The narration takes aim at stay-at-home orders, saying they caused mental anguish that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Regarding Covid vaccines, it mentions a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Historical Background and Recent Disputes

The documentary includes a 2004 BBC documentary about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the topic of a correction by the network for violations of guidelines.

In recent weeks, the political figure instructed the national health agency to change its official position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism. This claim is echoed in the film, despite a new report from the World Health Organisation stating no evidence has been found.

An Earlier Statement of Advocacy

Standing in contrast to the documentary's narrative, Neeson has in the past shown strong support for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.

Two years ago, he described vaccines as "an incredible human success story," noting that "The debate about vaccines in lately has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in history."

"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's voice stating, "This marks not the finish of our journey. It is the dawn of a different phase."
