Patrick Bamford Signs With the Blades Despite Initiating Abusive Chants About Manager Chris Wilder

Patrick Bamford is now a member of Sheffield United just half a year after starting disrespectful taunts directed at the team's coach, Chris Wilder.

This experienced striker, without a club since leaving Leeds, has agreed to a agreement with the Championship strugglers through the winter. Bamford's lengthy time at Elland Road was ended through agreement this past summer.

One of Bamford’s final notable acts as a Leeds player was to lead offensive songs about Chris Wilder amid the club’s success festivities in April. Past Conflict Involving Bamford & Wilder

The Wilder chant gained traction in April. A repentant Patrick along with Leeds boss, Daniel Farke, called the Sheffield United manager the next day.

Wilder said at the time: “Had a conversation with Patrick recently and I have no issue whatsoever with it. I'm uncertain regarding the words used from a fellow professional! But I valued and admired him calling me.

“We spent 20 minutes and the same again I spoke to Daniel too and we had a half-hour chat together and he is a super guy, a class act. Back in my playing days we used to give it and take it and that is an integral part of the game across all levels, including a Sunday morning. I've got absolutely no issue. I am cool with the situation and I told him that to Patrick.”

Latest Playing Challenges

The forward featured in 18 appearances with Leeds United in the previous campaign however the ex- Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and Middlesbrough player has struggled with fitness issues in recent years.
