Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.

Stateside actor Pat Finn, who was seen in popular television series like "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles this Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per news outlets.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a announcement.

They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Prolific Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the brother of the main character.

He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.

His cinematic roles include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was a member of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn coached, befriended and mentored many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
